House Business

The last few weekends have been about home improvement. You know, nothing big, just digging out the house,

building and installing two kinds of composters,


changing all the cheapo gold door knobs for cheap but less cheapo looking silver ones,


painting the beam in the guest room dark brown,

making curtains,

replacing both showerheads,


And some rearranging.

I think I am most pleased with the guest room (blue with beam and curtains) because it's most "done." And it's nice to have something "done." While overwhelming, it's also fun to figure out how to do things and see some tangible progress at the end of the weekend. It's very unlike regular life or work, neither very often sees full completion or tangible results at the end of the day.
